Sphinx Café, Pittsburgh’s only authentic hookah bar, offers a comfortable environment to spend time with friends or relax on your own while enjoying one of our quality hookahs. Proprietors Andrawes family opened Sphinx Café,in its original location on the South Side of Pittsburgh, during the summer of 2004. Sphinx is more than just a business to them, it is the realization of two life long dreams, the passion to share their heritage of hookah and celebrate their culture with people of all ages and nationalities. Both Ramy and Amera have been influenced by their families in opening a hookah bar, especially with the Andrawes family owning a hookah factory in Egypt. Customers are greeted to a cozy atmosphere and are treated as extended family as they enter the store. Often times you will see friends and family around, helping out in the kitchen or serving on the floor. It is important that people feel welcome and comfortable while spending time here at Sphinx.

Not only a hookah bar, Sphinx is also a company that embraces all aspects of hookah sale and enjoyment. Within the store and for sale are 5 brands of Shisha ranging in price and quality. As agents to the largest importer of hookah in the United States, we sell, buy and trade to the individual customer as well as taking part in wholesale, offering the best prices in the market. Carrying all the parts and accessories that you may want or need, we also do special order upon request. Sphinx is also a full service stop including repairs and cleaning of your existing hookah.

Sphinx is also in the process of expanding, with a new location that opened in april of 2006 in Oakland . A hookah shisha factory dreams to open sometime in 2007-08. We ship locally and throughout the United States for free, while also opening our services throughout the world to the individual and larger business.
